A Christmas Carol Unit Study

$6.00

On December 19th, 1843, Charles Dickens published A Christmas Carol. By Christmas Eve, the novella had completely sold out. Within the next year the book had gone through 13 more printings and continues to remain a best seller. The short novel has been adapted into musicals, plays, animated movies, and now, it is the spine for the Little World Wanderers unit study.

Like many of Dickens’ works, A Christmas Carol is written as a work of social commentary. Charles Dickens had a compassion for others after his family experience with debtors prison, which meant that he had to leave school as a child and work in a factory. A Christmas Carol provides the message that we can all be a little kinder to one another.
