In the winter time animals have 3 means of survival: migrate, adapt, or hibernate.
In this unit you’ll learn about different forests of the world as well as well as the different animals and the way they survive the winter.
Using natural materials from around the house and outside, your student will build a hibernation cave to allow their stuffed bear to “hibernate” in the freezer. Students will engineer their bears den, conduct and experiment, and make changes to their den in order to best keep their bears warm.
This unit also includes a diverse book list about winter time in the forest.
