Handicrafts for the Little Years

Charlotte Mason said that handicrafts are to be beautiful and useful. They should enable the child as they grow into adulthood and always be something worked on carefully and diligently. Handicrafts should not frustrate a child but rather grow with them as they get older. Keeping these principles in mind, we have come up with handicrafts for your youngest learners. This curriculum is designed for students age 3-7. During this age, children are learning fine and gross motor skills that they will need as they get older. We have focused our crafts on building strength in their fingers and hands so they can prepare for school work in the future. Handicrafts for the Little Years is a seasonal program. Each season we have put together 12 crafts and 1 recipe each season for you to work on with your child. Adhering to the mindset that handicrafts are meant to be beautiful and useful, many of these can be given as gifts in the future.
