Campfire Crates: Christmas in the Philippines

Several months ago I was able to hop on a zoom call with the creator of Campfire Crates and discuss our companies. Co-creator, Cricket is a Filipino American with over a decade of experience in childhood education research. Through our talk, we were able to share our ideas on how to share other cultures with the world.

Campfire Crates strives to help kids feel connected to their roots though activities, crafts, and language. Their hope is to create a generation of multicultural kids who know they can change the world.

Their crafts aren’t just for the kids who share the cultures of the boxes, any child could benefit form these crates!

While we were writing the unit on The Philippines, Cricket reached out and offered to send us the Christmas in the Philippines crate.

For the Filipino crate there were language cards, an activity guide, and 2 crafts. I loved how easy it was to complete the crafts with my daughter. Our Filipino parole is still hanging in our school room.

My 18 month old son loved the tansan tambourine and couldn’t get enough of the jingle bells!

Campfire Crates is a company with a beautiful mission. There 2021 celebration crates line up included Ramadan, Tet, and Carnival. The crates are appropriate for children ages 4 and up, and make a wonderful addition to some of our units.
