Early Alphabet: Pre-School Literacy Program
After a year of development, Early Alphabet is finally here!
Teaching children to read is a wonderful and exciting endeavor. In the Early Alphabet program we are laying the foundation for reading skills by introducing the alphabet and the sounds letters make. This is meant to be gentle, playful, and fun for your child.
During these early days of pre-school, it’s important that children have fun and enjoy learning. While this can be done through play, we understand that some younger children are excited and motivated to learn.
This program is right for your child if they:
-Need an introduction to the letters
-Need to learn letter sounds
This program is not right for your child if they are able to identify 75% or more of their letters accurately.
The Early Alphabet will help your children reach the following literacy goals:
-Enjoy listening to stories
-Understand that print makes words and contains meaning
-Make attempts to read and write
-Identify some letters and match the letters to sounds
-Recite the alphabet
-Identify uppercase and lowercase letters
-Recognize the letters of their name
The Early Alphabet has been designed to follow a 4-day a week schedule. We know that sometimes our schedules need to be a little flexible for our children. It is our opinion that a 4 day schedule allows time and space for other activities and interruptions.
The Early Alphabet is a year long program with the mindset of giving children an introduction into early reading skills.
We hope this brings joy to your little learners this school year.
