I Feel Lucky Because...
We’re getting ready for St. Patrick’s Day on Wednesday, which means we’re basically living in the world of rainbows and green.
This year we are using our Little World Wanderers St. Patrick’s Day mini unit to learn about St. Patrick, shamrocks, and 4 leaf clovers.
We’ve done rainbow science experiments, and Nora is planning an elaborate leprechaun trap. We’re also reading A Prairie Thief, which is about a Brownie but it’s still been enjoyable.
One of my favorite activities we did together was painting the I Feel Lucky Because free printable from Lana’s Shop
We talked about what makes Nora feel lucky and her responses were so sweet. She feels lucky to have a brother, her dog, to live in Colorado, and be homeschooled. We noticed that she didn’t mention that she feels luck for stuff she has, or her toys, it was her family, her faith, and things we do together. (Although the fish and books made the list). Sometimes in motherhood it’s easy to worry if the choices we’re making for our children are right. I feel that even more, living through a pandemic and disruption of plans during the last year. All of these worries we have about parenting sometimes melts away when we see how our girl views the things we do as a blessing. Ask your babies what makes them feel lucky this week, and save those sweet pictures for years to come.
These are the good days, friend. Your babies will tell you that.
